Our dentists will work with you regarding your concerns and will create a treatment plan that will reflect your dental needs and priorities.

Our friendly patient-oriented team will make sure that you are comfortable during the treatment procedure. We have Nitrous Oxide sedation (happy gas) available in our surgery to assist the anxious patient. Intravenous sedation (IV sedation) and treatment under general anaesthetic at a local private hospital are also available for complex procedures.

About Us

Woden Dental Care was established by Dr Stephen Huang in 2004 as a sole practitioner, and has grown into a team of dentists and prosthetics.

These dedicated practitioners work closely together to ensure that each patient receives the best possible dental care in an informed position, a relaxed environment and with the latest techniques and the state of art equipment.

Dr Stephen Huang

Dr Stephen Huang graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1999. He worked both in public dental clinic and private surgeries in Canberra prior to establishing the Woden Dental Care in 2004.

He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interest in minor oral surgery. He has been a visiting dental officer for the Canberra Hospital since 2004, treating patients with severe dental trauma. He is also a visiting dentist at local private hospitals providing complex dental treatment under General Anaesthesia.

Dr Huang attends many continuing education classes in multiple areas of dental study, and has completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Conscious sedation and pain control). He believes in keeping up with the latest techniques and technologies to provide his clients.

General Dentistry

When it comes to dental health, the goal is to take preventative measures that allow you to keep your own teeth for the duration of your life. At Woden Dental Care, we emphasise preventative dentistry.

By having regular check-ups, having teeth fixed when the problems are still small, and following a daily oral-care routine, you should be able to achieve this goal.

All our dentists are skillful in providing treatment in all aspects of general dentistry, including fillings, root canal treatment and extraction.

Crowns, Bridges & Implants

Crowns strengthen and protect teeth and will improve the function and appearance of your teeth. Our latest CEREC 3D technology enables patients to have a crown in a single stress free appointment.

A Bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of a gap, with a false tooth/teeth rigidly attached in between.

The use of Dental implants allows for the replacement of a missing tooth without modifying the neighbouring teeth.

Dentures

Removable dentures can replace one tooth, all your natural teeth, or any number of missing teeth in between.

Our in-house prosetheist Mr. David McGuinness can provide denture services that best suit your needs.

Wisdom teeth extraction and minor oral surgery

The extraction of partially erupted or impacted wisdom teeth and the removal of broken roots often require surgical extraction.

With years of experience and special training in the area, Dr Stephen Huang can perform the procedure quickly and painlessly either at a local private hospital or in the surgery.

Treatment under GA & IV Sedation

Treatment under General Anaesthesia is performed at John James Private Hospital for complex surgical procedures, such as multiple and wisdom teeth extraction.

Treatment under IV sedation (Conscious sedation) is performed at our surgery for people with high dental anxiety.

Nitrous oxide “happy gas” is also available to relax a nervous patient during treatment.

Emergency

Appointments are available for dental emergencies, such as, severe toothache, a broken tooth, a sporting accident or facial swelling.
