The Norman Park dental surgery is situated in a small shop in Tennyson St Norman Park with easy access and parking. The dental surgery is friendly, relaxed and we will do our best to make your dealings with us as stress free as possible.

My name is Chris Kaiplinger, I am the dentist at Norman Park Dental Surgery. I graduated from the University of Sydney in 1978, and have over 30 years experience in private dental practice as well as working in remote communities in Australia and overseas. I continue to be inspired by advances in treatments and new technology. I am a member of the Australian Dental Association. I also belong to the Vardiman Dental Study Group in Brisbane, an enthusiastic group of dentists who meet regularly to attend lectures, talk about dentistry and exchange views and information.

Over the years my treatment philosophy has been distilled down to two basic concepts:

Prevention. My first and foremost endeavour is to teach you everything you need to know to keep your teeth healthy, functioning and for life. My motto is “The best dental treatment is the treatment you don’t need to have”. Prevention in dentistry is totally achievable but is predicated by the absence of bulk oral bacteria. In most cases daily effective plaque removal will improve your oral health greatly and prevent toothaches.

Preservation. My other emphasis is on preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible. Providing what remains of a tooth is sound, there is no reason why even badly damaged teeth cannot be restored to provide effective and lasting service. Modern CAD-CAM ceramic tooth restorations, including tooth fillings, veneers and crowns, combined with dental bonding techniques are making this eminently possible. Function begets form, so if it looks like a tooth, it will work and feel like a tooth.
